Sustainable Peace by Piece is the blog kept by Alexandra Douglas, a two-year extended volunteer at the Friends Women’s Association in Kamenge, Burundi.
This blog follows her work with the Burundian women who have made it their goal to build a women’s health clinic that can serve as ”neutral ground” in a neighborhood which was once a center of violence, a clinic which can help build the foundations of peace by addressing the interconnecting inequalities that build the foundations of war.
This blog is Alex’s personal account of working with FWA, of being a foriegn white worker in post-colonial Burundi, and of working with and within the (problematic) international development industry.

I am looking forward to reading the blog of Ms. Douglas as she begins her adventure with the women’s health clinic in Burundi.
